Dan Kills it again for the Red Hook crit.

This year’s Red Hook Crit was a success. As you already know, Dan Chabanov remains the 3-time champion for this event. The kid is no joke! Fast, agile, and owning the crit like Secretariat owns horse racing.

Congrats to you, Dan!! Much Props to Dave Trimble for organizing an awesome event!!

My 4 Days spent in SF….
I-ight, I’ve been back from the ‘west for a week now. I can honestly say that this city is almost like being in nyc. The only difference is the 7x7 layout, along with the nastiest hills i have ever seen in my life. I used to think that Yonkers and Riverdale in The Bronx had the wildest hills(cant forget the Grand Concourse stretch from 161 to Tremont Av), i believe SF has it in the bag. I was invited to a SF Commuter Race the evening i touched down from NYC, which was a test to see where my checkpoint was without looking at a map. I was kicking it at my checkpoint with Ava and Chris ‘Six’ Nguyen in the Panhandle. Later that night, we met up at Dear Mom, where i met a abundance of San Franciscans doing the same thing we do in New York, having fun and embracing the atmosphere. My ny homies, Justin and Erik, were there chillin’ out also.
On Friday, I knew i had to pre-ride my own course, just to really see how crazy it is. Yo! on a track bike, it’s pretty serious to know where certain hills are so that you’re not flying down a steep graded hill. I started in The Embarcadero through Russian Hill, to Chinatown, into the Tenderloin. While pre-riding my course, i bumped into Junior, the OG of OG messengers in San Francisco. I thanked him on giving me more of an advantage to intensify my race. Check out his article in the latest COG Magazine. Riding up Twin Peaks was crazy going up from Clayton St. Almost at the top, i staked my NYC claim by putting up my sponsors, GOOD FOOD, Chari &Co, and Benny Smalls stickers there.

.. Crihs threw a race for his company, TCB Courier, in which i did a checkpoint in also at Clare’s on 17th st and Guerrero st. This was my first night and 2nd alleycat in SF. I decided to hang out with my main man Kevin Bolger aka ‘Squid,’ Colleen aka ‘Boots’ and Anna at El Buen, eatin up burritos and convincing Colleen to race the Red Hook Crit race in March, and my alleycat race the next day. Squid and i decided to head back to the hotel to get ready for my 26th alleycat in a city i have never been to.

Saturday, February 25th is here: Here comes my race, From NY to SF. I know a lotta heads were wondering how did i make a course for a city i never been to before. I been wanting to go to SF for a while, since i missed the 2007 NACCCs there. I was doing my homework on that city months before i even thought of going there. So the synopsis was this: 11 checkpoints, 18 miles, a few sprints, hillclimbs, and a dope finish spot. Heres the first manifest i got at the finish

The race was a success, heres the Top 10, and girls who raced

I had a great time in Sf for my 4 days. Much props goes out to my following sponsors: The Grime, Chari & Co., Affinity Cycles, Chrome Bags SF, Tuff City Styles, Continuum Cycles, GOOD FOOD, Fast Co, Pushbike, Boombotix, Bamboo Bike Shop, and TCB Courier. Let’s do this shit again!!!!
